Everyone's feet are different so realize that no one shoe will work for everyone. The OLY 6 is just right for my well used 61 YO feet. I no longer run, but I regularly hike 10+ miles a day and the OLY 6 protects and cushions my feet while still being stable. This is very much the opposite of highly cushioned road shoes. I have worn these on trails, off trail, on hardpack and tarmac with the same excellent results. No issues with my heels or hotspots anywhere else on my feet.

Awesome shoes

I have roughly 250 miles on these shoes and they have shown little to no wear. Use has been split 50/50 between trails and pavement and I have nothing but good things to say about these shoes.

I wish they would have kept features from version 4!

I agree with other reviews. I loved the previous model (pre 5). The 6 looks to be similar to the 5. The 4 had a deeper inset for the heal allowing for better utilizations of thin insoles, less bulky, and I liked the thinner shoelaces much better. I hope HOKA reads these and makes the perfect cushion zero drop, wide toe trail shoe! I don't have a better option, so I will continue to buy these.

Best Distance Shoe

This has been my go to for high mileage runs. It keeps my feet in good shape for 50K runs and lasts probably about 300-350 miles before they need replacing. Other shoes have caused blisters but these don't. I am on my 4th pair now I like them so much. Happy I found them. Keep it up HOKA!

good stuff, have held up for a year of runs

Topos used to be my go-to, but then the toe box got so wide that my feet would slide around. Changed to the Olympus 6 and have a whole year with many road and trail runs on them. Comfy, no blisters, good cushion. A bit too warm for my preference in the summer, but they've been great in the rainy PNW winter. I see a lot of negative reviews, but my experience has been really great for the last year of runs in them.
